We're super pumped about these guys. And we've decided to call it no bullshit business tips. Because I feel like that's really what Amanda and I are all about.
Amanda Barr 0:38
Absolutely. So we want to offer you guys, you know, bite sized chunks of actionable items that actually work for your studio things that have worked in our studios. And we've also seen with our coaching clients as well. So every week on a Monday, we're gonna be dropping a new episode of no business. No bullshit, no bullshit business. And
Rebecca Liu-Brennan 0:59
I was so pumped, guys, but we thought today, we would start by talking to you guys about actually why we started this page, how we started it and the differences that we've seen in the dance community at the moment, which we think that you know, we're hopefully leading a little bit of Absolutely.
Amanda Barr 1:12
So, you know, let's start back at the beginning. You know, I started my studio 23 years ago, 20. I think about that kind of time. 23 years ago, I've had my studio for a very long time. I've recently just sold it. And you know, it grew to be one of the biggest Studios in New South Wales, we were having a huge number of kids doing seven figures every single year hitting amazing numbers. We're so proud of what we achieved. Yeah.
Rebecca Liu-Brennan 1:39
And I've had my business for 20 years next year. And you know, same thing, we've got heaps of kids were hitting seven figures. And I didn't start like that, though. You know, I started really small, and I was drowning. And you know, there was lots of things going wrong. And I've learned how to build my business to be really big and profitable now, which is why I'm super passionate about showing other people the same thing. But we actually started this page through COVID. Right, a man? Absolutely.
Amanda Barr 2:07
You know, we both are, you know, we're very quick to pivot our businesses during COVID. Yeah. Which we were super proud of. We both actually did really well through COVID. Yeah. And we started this group to help inspire other studio owners to help other people out because we could say that our community was hurting our studios were hurting around the world. Exactly.
Rebecca Liu-Brennan 2:29
And I think at that time, studio owners just needed each other. Yeah. And I still think co owners actually need each other. And that's why we've created this community also created this huge Expo, which we had last year, which was epic, and that's just for studio owners and dads, teachers to come together and to collaborate because, you know, I feel there's enough kids to go around. We don't need to be so competitive and we're stronger together. That's what we always say, Right?
Amanda Barr 2:52
Absolutely. We're stronger together. It's so nice to have an incredible community of studio owners. We absolutely love it through dance principles united, we've created a dance principal United drive, which is our membership, which we absolutely love as well as our high end group studio growth Club, which is an incredible group of studio owners that work super closely together as well. Absolutely.
Rebecca Liu-Brennan 3:13
So no bullshit business tips. We're going to be coming to you every single week, giving you little bite sized snippets of things that we know you can make actionable and work in your studio every single week. We are pumped to have you guys here with us.
