Happy Monday guys back and Amanda back with no bullshit business tips to help you grow the studio of your dreams. Now today we're talking about surrounding yourself with like minded people, because there's that old saying, right that you're the sum of the three Yep, three people that you spend most of your time with. And what are those people doing for you? You know, are they building you up? Or are they bringing you down?
Rebecca Liu Brennan 0:29
Yeah, I do sessions on this and chat about it so much. It's something I'm very passionate about. Because I've seen a huge change in my life, by changing the people who I was surrounded by. And that is exactly it. Amanda, like, I was in a position where the my three top people were bringing me down, they weren't about goals, they weren't about achieving great things in life. And I was definitely the worst version of myself. And I was the worst leader, I was the worst studio and I was the worst mom, I was the worst of everything. When you change that and start putting people in your life who want to see goals, who want to see you achieve things who build you up, what you can achieve, then is astronomical. Absolutely.

I love that. So so much, you know, so really think about who are you surrounding a with, you know, if you don't have a group of business besties, that is a great place to start, you know, you can go to local networking events, you can, you know, do things online, which makes it so much easier. You can join groups like dance principles, United tribal studio growth club, but having people around you to bounce ideas off, to celebrate your wins to commiserate your losses, sometimes as well, or just to vent to, it can really be such a game changer for your business. Absolutely.

And I love that in studio growth club, we have different channels, right, in our slack. And so one of the channels is wins. And so people will put their wins on there, and everyone builds them up. Absolutely. You know, and I think that that in itself, and I know a lot of our studio owners say that that community is everything to them, and they no longer feel alone. And that's what you want. You want those people around you who help you support you, and make you feel like you're not the only one going through this stuff. Because we've said it before being a student, and it can be very lonely.

Absolutely. You know, it's a job that not a lot of people get, get our world, right. It's, it's a very different kind of, you know, career to be in, and a lot of people don't get it. And you know, it was interesting the other night, in our studio growth club or group, you know, someone said, you know, I don't know about you, but when I became a studio, and I lost a lot of my friends go on the wayside. And they were talking about the, you know, community that they've built inside the studio growth club. And how incredible that is. Because, you know, it's so nice to have people around you who are wanting to lift you up that wanting to help you to offer advice, make suggestions, say, hey, that didn't work for me. But here's what worked for me. And here's what I have done. It's such a key, it is

such a key. And, you know, it's getting that feedback from everyone, as well as getting that, Wow, good job, you're doing a great thing here. Because we don't often get that from our clients, right? Like, we often get the complaints or that, you know, this didn't happen or that didn't happen. It's not that often that we get that, hey, you're doing a great job. But when you've got those like minded people around you, especially if they're co owners, I think you can, you can have that. So guys take some action on these seriously, have a look at different groups that you can be a part of, and get yourself into those groups, Amanda and I are very big on making sure they're always upskilling yourself that you're always learning, we spend a lot of money ourselves on business coaching, and it constantly surrounding ourselves, I feel with different tears, like you know, we've probably started down here, both of us. And then as we grow as business owners, we go into higher tiers of things and that's what you that's the best way to learn and to grow and to do all the things salutely Yeah,

grounding yourself with like minded people. So if you haven't tried it before, it makes such a huge difference. Find yourself a group to be a part of if you want to chat to us about any of our groups, we'd love to talk to you. But there's also some incredible groups online. You know, in real life, whatever works for you is the best thing in your community. It doesn't always have to be dance studio owners. It could be other business people, but do something to move yourself forward and grow the studio of your dreams. Absolutely
